Trafford Palazzo Tram Stop Takeover

A pink disco activation celebrating the renaming of Trafford Palazzo’s tram stop and the arrival of its newly branded trams.

Trafford Palazzo marked a major milestone with the official renaming of the tram stop outside the shopping centre to Trafford Palazzo, alongside the arrival of its newly wrapped trams.

Riot House was tasked with bringing the moment to life through a bold shopping centre event and experiential activation, designed to surprise and delight visitors while taking the Trafford Palazzo brand beyond the centre and into Manchester. The Morning Glory

We created The Morning Glory, Eggslut’s own tongue-in-cheek newspaper filled with parody Manchester headlines and our very own ‘seggsy’ Page 3 model, Benedicta.

The concept gave guests something physical to interact with while extending the personality of the activation beyond the venue itself.

Bringing the Pink Party to Manchester

Taking inspiration from the wider creative campaign, we turned the occasion into a full pink disco takeover.

Our entertainment crew included pink disco mirror men, bespoke pink bowling living statues and a high-energy promotional team armed with giant tram tickets, goody bags and a boom box bringing non-stop disco energy to the day.

A Rolling Brand Activation

The experience extended beyond Trafford Palazzo itself.

We took the activation onto the tram network, turning journeys between Trafford Palazzo and Manchester city centre into a rolling pink party and creating unexpected moments for passengers and plenty of surprised platform onlookers along the route.

It gave the campaign a life outside the shopping centre, taking the brand directly to a wider Manchester audience.

The Trafford Palazzo Takeover

Back at the centre, the celebrations continued with a live DJ, Pink tribute act, pink rollerskaters and dedicated selfie moments.

Together, the entertainment and experiential elements transformed the milestone into a highly visual shopping centre activation, creating reasons for visitors to stop, interact, take photographs and share the experience.

The Result

A big, bold public activation spanning Trafford Palazzo, the Bee Network tram system and Manchester city centre, celebrating an important moment for the destination while creating multiple opportunities for visitor engagement and social content throughout the day.

The event demonstrated how creative shopping centre events can extend beyond the centre itself, bringing a destination's brand into the wider city and creating memorable experiences for both existing visitors and new audiences.
